Butterfield: Toast-Toting Cat Takes Center Stage in Cato

Get ready for Cato: Buttered Cat, a charming new puzzle platformer hitting Android soon! The name itself is a delightful blend of "cat" and "toast," reflecting the game's unique premise.

Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat's back? The developers of Cato: Buttered Cat did, and the answer is pure, gravity-defying fun! The cat spins endlessly in a whimsical, anti-gravity loop.

Originating from the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam, this project by Team Woll has blossomed into a full game, initially launching on Steam. An Android release is imminent; while the Google Play listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register on the official TapTap page.

Gameplay:

Control both a cat and a slice of buttered toast to solve puzzles, battle enemies, and explore five quirky worlds filled with bizarre contraptions. With 200 levels (including side quests) and 30 outfits, there's plenty of content. The story unfolds gradually through level-scattered details. The gameplay cleverly utilizes the toast as a projectile, enabling the cat to reach otherwise inaccessible areas.

The game boasts hidden rooms and numerous Easter eggs. Check out the trailer below!

We eagerly anticipate the Android launch! Meanwhile, check out our coverage of the Operation Lucent Arrowhead, the second Arknights x Rainbow Six Siege crossover.
