Calico Weakened, Sinclair Revamped in Deadlock Update

by Sadie Feb 19,2025

Deadlock receives another surprise update from Valve, this time focusing on balance adjustments for four heroes and item tweaks. The changes are significant, particularly for Calico, who experienced substantial nerfs.

Calico's Return to Shadows ability received a major hit, with a ten-second cooldown increase and a 20% speed reduction shifted to tier 2. Her Leaping Slash (tier 2) also saw damage reduction.

Sinclair's update includes visual improvements with updated sounds and animations, and a gameplay shift as his Rabbit Hex is now an area-of-effect (AoE) ability. Holliday and Wraith also underwent nerfs, though specifics weren't detailed.

Item adjustments include nerfs to Ammo Scavenger (fewer stacks and removal of health bonus) and changes to Extra Stamina and Restorative Shot, which no longer boost fire rate and weapon damage respectively.

This marks the fifth Deadlock update of 2025, and the first in February. Valve has adopted a more flexible update schedule, releasing patches as needed rather than adhering to a fixed timetable. This latest update reflects that approach.
