Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don Cher Horowitz's yellow and plaid once again in a sequel series slated for Peacock. According to Variety, the project is currently in the development phase, and while plot details are shrouded in mystery, the excitement is palpable with Silverstone confirmed to lead the cast.
This new series promises to be a direct continuation of the beloved movie, distinguishing itself from a previously planned Clueless spin-off that Peacock had in the works back in 2020. The creative team behind this fresh take includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original and reboot series of *Gossip Girl*. They will be joined by Jordan Weiss to write and executive produce the series. The project also sees the return of Amy Heckerling, the original writer and director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's producer, who will also serve as executive producers. CBS Studios and Universal Television are on board to bring this vision to life.
This isn't the first time *Clueless* has transitioned to the small screen. A television adaptation ran on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, featuring Rachel Blanchard in the starring role previously held by Silverstone.
Silverstone's recent appearance as Cher in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten showcased her eagerness to revisit the character, hinting at her readiness to dive back into Cher's world. Fans are undoubtedly thrilled to see her return to this iconic role.
