Elden Ring DLC Nightreign Console Playtests Soon

FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially offer access only to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco hasn't disclosed the reasons for excluding PC players from this initial testing phase. However, those selected will enjoy a first look at the game before its official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, offering new challenges within a dark and ominous setting. While console gamers receive early access, PC users await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute play sessions don't allow sufficient time for message interaction. He explained, "We disabled the messaging feature because there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last approximately forty minutes."
