"Fantastic Four Trailer Debuts, Hints at Galactus in MCU"

by Riley Apr 26,2025

Marvel Studios has unveiled the debut trailer for *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*, giving fans an exhilarating first glimpse into what promises to be one of the most anticipated superhero films of 2025. The trailer showcases the iconic quartet—Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and The Thing—alongside the formidable supervillain Galactus.

Set against the backdrop of a dinner at the Baxter Building, the trailer immerses viewers in the film's unique 1960s retro-futuristic setting and hints at an epic showdown looming over New York. We witness Ben Grimm's transformation into The Thing, and his camaraderie with the team's humanoid robot, H.E.R.B.I.E., as they engage in a light-hearted cooking scene.

The trailer also offers thrilling snippets of action: Sue Storm using her invisibility powers and Johnny Storm blazing through the skies as the Human Torch. Notably absent, however, are any scenes of Reed Richards showcasing his stretching abilities.

Eagle-eyed viewers caught a brief appearance by John Malkovich, rumored to be portraying Ivan Kragoff, the Red Ghost. Marvel premiered the trailer at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, where stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach mingled with enthusiastic fans.

Scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* boasts a stellar cast, including Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer. The film also features Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Helmed by director Matt Shakman and produced by Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, the movie promises to be a thrilling addition to the MCU.

The official synopsis sets the stage: *Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)—as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.*

Speculation is rife among fans that Robert Downey Jr. might return to the MCU as the iconic villain Doctor Doom, either as a significant presence or through a teaser. Kevin Feige has confirmed that the Fantastic Four will also feature in both *Avengers: Doomsday* and *Avengers: Secret Wars*, heightening the anticipation for their cinematic journey.
