Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

If you're a fan of the classic strategy game *ROME: Total War* on Android, you're in for a treat. Feral Interactive has just released the Imperium Update, a massive free update that brings a wealth of gameplay tweaks, control improvements, and quality-of-life features to the game. Initially launched on Android in 2018, this update not only enhances the core game but also promises to roll out to the standalone expansions *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update incorporates some of the best features from Feral’s more recent mobile releases, including *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. This update introduces three new control options to *ROME: Total War*: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These additions grant players greater command over their units, making battles more precise and engaging. Now, you can easily move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.

Positioning Mode allows for fine-tuning unit placements with a simple tap and hold. The Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups with a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode enables ranged units to switch to close combat when necessary, adding a strategic layer to your gameplay.

One of the most significant changes is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically slows the game down when you're issuing complex orders. This helps in managing your units more effectively during intense battle scenarios. Additionally, for the first time, *ROME: Total War* on Android (and iPad) now supports keyboard and mouse, enhancing the gaming experience significantly.

The minimap has been revamped to resemble the one in *MEDIEVAL II*, featuring smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly revert to the default view, making it easier to keep an eye on the bigger picture.

The Imperium Update is now live and available for download on the Google Play Store for *ROME: Total War* on Android. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* next week, as they will also benefit from these enhancements.
