by Zachary Oct 22,2025

Remedy's Control spin-off, FBC: Firebreak, has surpassed one million players. While available through Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus subscriptions, the studio celebrated this achievement while acknowledging ongoing improvements needed. "Last night marked a special moment as FBC: Firebreak crossed 1 million players. From all of us at Remedy – thank you for joining this adventure," the developer shared in a social media post. "We recognize there's still significant work ahead, but we're energized for what's coming. Exciting updates are in development for Firebreak players – stay tuned for details soon." Play The team recently addressed early game shortcomings, noting FBC: Firebreak's introductory experience suffered from unclear mechanics, underwhelming initial weaponry, and excessive grinding requirements for upgrades. "Despite occasional narrative gaps, Remedy delivers chaotic fun battling unpredictable creatures within their brilliantly bizarre bureaucratic universe," noted IGN's ongoing review. "Further testing will determine the full potential of this cooperative workplace simulator." Post-launch plans include free 2025 updates with two additional Jobs (missions), followed by 2026 expansions. All gameplay content remains free, with cosmetic purchases as the sole optional monetization – no paid advantages or FOMO mechanics. Remedy's development slate remains packed alongside FBC: Firebreak, with Control 2 and Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes currently in production.
