"Guide to Winning the A Prize Held High in Monster Hunter Wilds"

by Alexander Apr 26,2025

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, there's a wealth of activities to dive into, and not all of them involve tracking down the game's colossal beasts. If you're aiming to secure the A Prize Held High trophy or achievement, here's your comprehensive guide on how to achieve it.

How to Unlock the A Prize Held High Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds

Contrary to what the trophy's name might suggest about dragons or wyverns, your target for this achievement is the elusive Curioshell Crab, which you'll need to capture with your Capture Net.

Finding the Curioshell Crab can be challenging as it's scattered across various maps. Our most effective strategy has been to head to the Scarlet Forest. Start from the base camp and navigate to Area 6: Flowering Rocks pop-up camp, which is situated between Areas 2 and 6.

Once you arrive, focus your search around the nearby puddle of water, a prime spawning spot for the Curioshell Crab. If it's not immediately visible, enlist Alma's help; she'll mention if a creature nearby is holding something, signaling the presence of a Curioshell Crab.

Equip your Capture Net, aim carefully until the reticle turns orange, and then shoot to capture the crab. A successful capture not only nets you the Curioshell Crab but also rewards you with an Ancient Wyvern Coin.

Due to the Curioshell Crab's swift movements, anticipate its path and aim ahead to secure your catch. Besides the Scarlet Forest, other reliable locations include Area 13 of the Windward Plains and Area 8 of the Scarlet Forest. Keep in mind that the crab can appear in other map areas as well, but these are the spots we've verified.

That covers all you need to know about unlocking the A Prize Held High trophy or achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and tricks, be sure to check out The Escapist.
