LHEA and the Word Spirit is an upcoming puzzle adventure game for mobile and PC. Developed solely by Jo Drolet under Soul Fuel Games, this project represents Drolet's first major release.
After almost three years in development, the game launches on September 22nd, blending casual roguelite mechanics with turn-based strategy. Alongside the release date reveal, the developer has also offered a few sneak peeks into the gameplay.
What is LHEA and the Word Spirit?
The narrative begins in the In-Between, a dreamlike realm straddling life and death, where the protagonist Lhea awakens. Guided by an ancient Word Spirit, she must master an unusual combat system.
Her mission involves manipulating timelines, assisting wandering souls to find peace, and ultimately restoring balance by sealing fractured realms. The combat stands out for its unique mechanic: controlling the timeline's flow.
To ensure battles stay engaging, State of Mind and Harmony power-ups offer various ways to shift the odds. Meanwhile, the Fate Flute—a mystical instrument—can store up to nine enchanted rings across three distinct presets. Each ring unlocks knowledge spells that broaden your abilities.
