Switch 2 Super Mario Kart World Bundle
Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle
- $499.99 at Best Buy
Opting for the Switch 2 bundle with Super Mario Kart World saves you $30 compared to buying the console and game separately. Keep in mind, the bundle includes a digital copy of the game, so you won't receive a physical cart or game box. If a physical copy is a must-have for you, consider spending the extra $30 for the standalone game.
Yes, the MSRP Is $79.99
When purchased separately, Mario Kart World is priced at $79.99, which is $10 more than the standard price for AAA titles on PlayStation and Xbox this generation. While price increases between console generations can be frustrating, the rising costs of game development are a reality. I'm optimistic that the expansive nature of Mario Kart World justifies the additional cost.
What Is Mario Kart World?
Mario Kart World is poised to be the most ambitious Mario Kart game to date, featuring an open-world environment similar to the Forza Horizon series. In Grand Prix mode, you can seamlessly transition from one race to the next without interruption. The game's tracks dynamically change with weather and time of day, impacting visibility and traction. You can also explore beyond the traditional tracks, driving "virtually everywhere" across the Mushroom Kingdom, with each race accommodating up to 24 drivers.
A new mode called Knockout Tour challenges you to race across the open world, navigating through checkpoints with specific placement requirements. Falling behind at any checkpoint results in elimination. For a more relaxed experience, Free Roam mode lets you explore at your own pace, team up with friends, and capture memorable moments in photos.
