NetEase Games has announced a ban on players using keyboard and mouse adapters with their PS5 and Xbox Series consoles in Marvel Rivals. The company cites unfair competitive advantages stemming from increased control sensitivity and retained aim assist as the reason for this policy. Adapters such as XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from keyboard and mouse, are specifically targeted. NetEase states that these devices create an imbalance, particularly in competitive game modes. The company employs sophisticated detection tools to identify adapter use, resulting in account bans upon detection.
Previously, it was observed that higher FPS in Marvel Rivals correlated with higher ping. While less noticeable with low base ping, a jump to 150ms from a typical 90ms significantly impacts gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Currently, the recommended solution is to await a game patch and experiment to find the optimal FPS/ping ratio. Some players suggest maintaining an FPS around 90 as a temporary workaround, although this may seem counterintuitive to players accustomed to higher frame rates in other games.
