Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Prepares for Launch
Fox Hunt Emerges as the New Multiplayer Experience
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater introduces Fox Hunt, a completely new multiplayer mode replacing Metal Gear Online. During Konami's recent PRESS START livestream, Director Yu Sahara provided exclusive details about this reimagined online experience.
Sahara described Fox Hunt as an "entirely original online multiplayer" that exists within MGS Delta's universe while offering distinct gameplay. This marks a departure from Metal Gear Online, which originally debuted with MGS3: Subsistence on PlayStation 2.
"While we deeply respect Metal Gear Online's legacy," Sahara explained, "today's multiplayer landscape demands fresh approaches." The development team focused on evolving the signature camouflage and stealth mechanics that define Metal Gear's identity.
Instead of creating another conventional shooter, they've crafted a unique experience centered around the tension of hiding versus hunting. "We wanted to deliver something that could only exist in the Metal Gear universe," Sahara emphasized, promising more details soon.
Xbox Secures Exclusive Snake vs. Bomberman Mode
Following February's announcement of PlayStation-exclusive "Snake vs. Monkey" mode, Konami has confirmed Xbox will feature its own special battle mode called "Snake vs. Bomberman." The recently released Xbox trailer showcases this unique crossover where players control Snake against the explosive Bomberman character.
Konami aims to faithfully recreate this legendary title while modernizing systems and expanding content for contemporary audiences. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches globally on August 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
