Michael Douglas, the celebrated actor known for his role as Hank Pym in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's *Ant-Man* series, has hinted that his days as the shrinking scientist might be over. Douglas has graced the big screen as Hank Pym in all three *Ant-Man* films, including the latest, 2023's *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania*, and also made a notable appearance in *Avengers: Endgame*. However, with the commencement of filming for *Avengers: Doomsday*, fans are curious if they'll witness Pym's return. Douglas, though, seems to have closed the door on that possibility.
"I don't think so," Douglas candidly shared with Deadline, when questioned about reprising his role in future Marvel projects. "I had the experience, and I was excited to do it." His recent focus has shifted away from acting, with Marvel films being his last major screen appearances. Alongside, Douglas has been actively involved in producing, with over a dozen credits to his name.Reflecting on his time with Marvel, Douglas remarked, "I'd never done a green screen picture before. But I'm enjoying my hiatus and enjoying my life. It was overwhelming running the production company and acting at the same time." He had previously expressed a wish for Hank Pym to meet his end in *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania*, believing it would enhance the narrative stakes for Paul Rudd's Ant-Man. However, Marvel opted for a different direction for the character.

The underwhelming box office performance of Quantumania has cast doubts on the future of the Ant-Man franchise. Yet, Paul Rudd is set to reprise his role in Avengers: Doomsday. As for the rest of the Ant-Man family — including Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet Van Dyne, and Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne — their return seems uncertain. In June 2024, Lilly announced her departure from acting to prioritize her family, diminishing the likelihood of her character Wasp appearing in Avengers: Doomsday.
So, what can fans expect from *Avengers: Doomsday*? A leaked set footage this week hinted at the return of a surprising location originally seen in *The Falcon and the Winter Soldier*, adding an exciting layer to the film's anticipation.
