The streaming giant has enlisted the talents of T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his contributions to the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, to craft the screenplay for the Sifu movie. Derek Kolstad, who was initially involved in adapting the game's narrative, might still be part of the project, though his exact role remains uncertain at this time.
The production is further bolstered by the addition of Chad Stahelski, the visionary director behind the John Wick franchise, and his company 87Eleven Entertainment, who will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also actively involved in another eagerly anticipated video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.
Since its release in 2022, Sifu has captured the hearts of gamers worldwide, achieving over one million sales within just three weeks. The game tells the gripping tale of a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance following the brutal murder of their master. Equipped with a mystical pendant that grants resurrection at the expense of aging them several years, the protagonist navigates a perilous journey filled with danger and intrigue.
