In *Persona 5: The Phantom X*, players step into the role of a new protagonist, leading a fresh crew of Phantom Thieves through a stylized rendition of modern-day Tokyo. The game introduces new palaces and mementos for players to explore, maintaining the series' beloved turn-based combat and the engaging dual-life rhythm. Additionally, the game incorporates light social-simulation elements and dungeon crawling, complemented by a guild system and a PvE mode known as Velvet Trials, alongside familiar faces from the original *Persona 5*.
The narrative begins with the protagonist awakening from a nightmare to find themselves in a distorted version of reality. As the story unfolds, players will encounter a talking owl named Lefaye and the enigmatic Velvet Room crew, including the long-nosed man and his assistants.
