The launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was a thrilling moment for fans, but it quickly hit a snag with its trading feature. Initially, the system was criticized for its cumbersome use of hard-to-obtain Trade Tokens and restrictive trading rules. However, a recent update promises to address these issues head-on.
The most significant change is the complete removal of Trade Tokens. Now, trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity will require Shinedust instead. You can earn Shinedust by opening booster packs and receiving cards that are already registered in your Card Dex. If you currently hold Trade Tokens, they can be converted into Shinedust, which is also used to obtain flair. Further updates are planned to enhance the use of Shinedust, and a new feature will allow you to share cards you're interested in trading directly through the in-game function.
As previously discussed, the initial implementation of trading felt somewhat half-hearted. The challenge with digital trading, unlike real-life exchanges, is the need for stricter controls to prevent abuse within the digital ecosystem. These changes, although promising, won't be implemented until at least autumn, leaving players waiting through the spring.
