Despite its exciting pre-launch crossover event showcasing Super Monkey Ball, Altered Beast, and other Sega classics, Sonic Rumble's worldwide release has been delayed. The multiplayer battle royale game had amassed over 1.4 million pre-registrations prior to this announcement.
What's Coming in Version 1.2
While the launch is on hold, Sega is preparing a substantial update (version 1.2) that will introduce several key features:
- Rumble Rankings: Seasonal leaderboards with competitive rewards
- Crews: Team up with friends for cooperative score missions
- Character Skills: New special abilities adding strategic depth
Developer Communication
Sega has scheduled a Discord Q&A session for May 2nd where players can get updates and ask questions about the game's development. This follows their decision to delay release rather than rush new features post-launch.

All previously announced bonuses will still be available at launch, including:
