Smite 2 Goes Free-to-Play Now

Smite 2's highly anticipated free-to-play open beta is now live across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. Titan Forge Games has also launched a significant update, introducing fan-favorite content such as Aladdin as a new god and a range of additional features.

The open beta reintroduces the beloved 3v3 Joust mode, a nod to the original Smite, and offers a fresh Arthurian-themed map alongside updates to the Conquest map. Additionally, an early version of the Assault mode is available for testing. Players can look forward to five new gods joining the roster, including Aladdin, who can run on walls and revive thanks to his companion’s wish-granting abilities. Other additions include Geb, Mulan, Agni, and Ullr.

To enhance gameplay, Aspects—a new feature offering optional god upgrades—are also part of the update. Smite 2 refines core mechanics from its predecessor, improving visuals and combat while introducing a revamped item shop. This allows players to customize their builds irrespective of their chosen god’s class.

While the game is accessible on multiple platforms, Nintendo Switch users remain excluded due to hardware concerns. However, Titan Forge Games remains open to potentially porting the game to future iterations of the console. For now, eager players can download Smite 2 for free and experience the next evolution of the MOBA genre. The developer has expressed gratitude for community feedback during the closed alpha phase and hinted at ambitious plans for 2025.
