How To Unlock the Deep Woods in Fields of Mistria
To access the Deep Woods in *Fields of Mistria*, you'll need to break the Fire Seal and use the Dragon's Breath spell on the vines blocking the entrance. First, place these four items on the Priestess' altar at Mine Floor 60: a Faceted Rock Gem, Rockroot, Emerald, and Sealing Scroll. The first three items appear between floors 50-59, while obtaining the scroll requires collaboration with Juniper and Balor.
To get the Sealing Scroll from Balor, leave these materials in his wagon bin:
- 10 Silver Ingots
- 10 Rubies
- 10 Sapphires
- 10 Emeralds
After meeting these requirements, speak with Balor to receive the scroll the following day. Normally, breaking seals concludes with the Priestess' cryptic message and unlocks new mine biomes. However, this encounter takes an unexpected turn when the Priestess warns you to flee as the scroll activates prematurely. When injured and calling for help, Caldarus appears in human form and retreats to his Deep Woods temple to recuperate, granting you the Dragon's Breath spell.
This fiery spell permanently removes vine barriers, including the one hiding the Deep Woods entrance. Equip it from the pause menu and activate while facing blocked areas to reveal new locations.

How To Find Caldarus
After breaking the Fire Seal, locate Caldarus in his temple north of the Eastern Road. Use Dragon's Breath on the vines, then follow your map's NPC marker to the northeast sector. Clearing the path requires chopping a stump with your axe before reaching the temple.
Once unlocked, you can teleport to the Deep Woods anytime using your farm's Dragon Statue for 10 Essence. While Caldarus resides here, you can still communicate through his statue when needed.
