Watch Dogs: Truth lets you play the Ubisoft series on mobile (sort of)

by Emily Jan 04,2025

Ubisoft's hacking-focused Watch Dogs series is expanding to mobile devices! However, it's not a traditional mobile game. Instead, Watch Dogs: Truth is an interactive audio adventure, debuting on Audible. Players shape the narrative by making key decisions that guide Dedsec's actions.

The Watch Dogs franchise, a cornerstone of Ubisoft's lineup, is surprisingly making its mobile debut in this unconventional format. Watch Dogs: Truth isn't a mobile port of existing games, but a choose-your-own-adventure style experience. Set in a near-future London, players guide Dedsec as they face a new threat, aided by the AI Bagley.

Interestingly, the Watch Dogs franchise and Clash of Clans share a similar age. This audio adventure approach for the series' mobile launch is unique. While the concept of audio adventures isn't new (dating back to the 1930s), this adaptation of a major franchise is intriguing.

The somewhat unconventional marketing and release of Watch Dogs: Truth highlight the series' diverse approaches. However, its success will depend on player reception. The gaming community awaits to see how this innovative audio adventure performs.
