ARK: Survival Ascended's Extended Content Roadmap Unveiled
Studio Wildcard has recently unveiled an extensive content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, extending through late 2026. This ambitious plan outlines a significant evolution for the ARK: Survival Evolved remaster, encompassing engine upgrades, new maps, creatures, and more.
Initially launched in early access in November 2023, ARK: Survival Ascended will receive a crucial technical update in March 2025, migrating the game to Unreal Engine 5.5. This upgrade promises substantial performance improvements and the return of Nvidia's frame generation, previously disabled due to engine compatibility issues. The UE5 update will also facilitate a more streamlined download process, allowing players to install DLC maps individually, thus reducing overall game size.
The roadmap details a steady stream of content releases throughout 2025 and 2026:
2025:
- March: Unreal Engine 5.5 update.
- April: Free Ragnarok Ascended map, Bison (free creature), and a Fantastic Tame.
- June: A new premium map (details to be announced).
- August: Free Valguero Ascended map, a community-voted free creature, and a Fantastic Tame.
2026:
- April: Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 and Bob's True Tales Part 1.
- August: Free Genesis Ascended Part 2 and Bob's True Tales Part 2.
- December: Free Fjordur Ascended map and a community-voted free creature.
- Throughout the year: Three additional Fantastic Tames.
Beyond the scheduled releases, Studio Wildcard hints at potential unannounced additions. The roadmap serves as a high-level overview, leaving room for surprises and smaller updates along the way. The focus remains on delivering a polished and expansive experience for ARK: Survival Ascended players over the next two years.
