Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Global Release Schedule Announced

by Alexis May 13,2025

Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for the much-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Unlike previous entries in the series and other Ubisoft titles, Assassin’s Creed Shadows boasts a unified, actual release date across all platforms, with no option for early access through additional payments.

For players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available at 12am local time on March 20. However, PC gamers should note that release times differ depending on the platform. On Steam, the game will launch at various times on March 19 and 20, while on Ubisoft’s own platform, Ubi Connect, the timings are slightly different but still on March 19 and 20.

Pre-load is already available for Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC, ensuring that players can jump straight into the action as soon as the game goes live.

The release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows comes at a critical time for Ubisoft, following several delays and the underwhelming sales of last year's Star Wars Outlaws. The company has faced numerous challenges, including high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations, heightening the stakes for this new installment.

IGN’s review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows awarded it an impressive 8/10, praising the game for refining its open-world mechanics and delivering one of the best experiences in the series to date. The review stated, “By sharpening the edges of its existing systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows creates one of the best versions of the open-world style it’s been honing for the last decade.”
