Black Ops 6: Camo Challenge Tracking Explained

by Sebastian Mar 13,2025

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 has arrived, bringing with it a game-changer for camo enthusiasts: Camo Challenge Tracking. This new feature significantly streamlines the often-daunting camo progression grind. Let's dive into how it works.

Simplified Camo Challenge Progress in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The patch notes describe Camo Challenge Tracking as a tool allowing players to manually track up to 10 Camo and 10 Calling Card Challenges simultaneously. But the real benefit lies in its "Near Completion" notification system. This helps players effortlessly track progress toward coveted Dark Matter, Nebula, and 100 Percenter camos.

This feature lets you hand-pick 10 camo challenges to monitor, instantly checking progress during gameplay instead of constantly referring to the main menu. The system also proactively alerts you to challenges nearing completion, even those not actively tracked.

How to Track Camo and Calling Card Challenges in Black Ops 6

To add a challenge to your tracker, navigate to the desired Camo or Calling Card challenge and press Y (Xbox) or Triangle (PlayStation). This allows you to monitor progress in real-time during matches, eliminating the need to check after each game.

Even without manually selecting challenges, the game automatically highlights those closest to completion. This information remains readily accessible for your convenience. The Daily Challenges section in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 lobby also displays your top tracked and near-complete challenges for a complete overview.

Season 2 also simplifies unlocking special camos. Previously requiring nine preceding military camos, now only five are needed. However, two special camos are still required before earning mastery camos.

This update directly addresses player feedback regarding the sheer number of camos and the difficulty of tracking progress. Treyarch has clearly listened, making the camo acquisition process far more manageable and enjoyable.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
