Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Developer Working on New Feature to Track Challenges

Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, disappointing many players.

While no release date has been announced, the addition is confirmed to be "in the works," suggesting a possible inclusion in the upcoming Season 2 content update later this month. This will significantly improve the player experience, particularly for those pursuing Mastery camos, by providing real-time challenge progress updates within the game's UI. The anticipated functionality mirrors that of Modern Warfare 3, allowing players to select a challenge and monitor their progress without leaving the match.

Beyond challenge tracking, Treyarch also confirmed they are developing separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, addressing another common player request. This will eliminate the need to constantly adjust HUD preferences when switching between game modes.

A recent January 9th update included various bug fixes for the game's UI and audio, along with an XP boost for the Red Light, Green Light multiplayer mode. Significantly, this update also reversed a controversial change to the Zombies mode, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawning mechanics after community feedback.
