Activision reports a significant surge in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies main quest completions thanks to the introduction of Directed Mode. While many players prioritize survival in the wave-based Zombies mode, Directed Mode has successfully engaged a larger segment of the player base in the game's overarching narrative.
Since its inception in World at War, the Call of Duty Zombies mode has featured a complex, evolving storyline. Despite a general decline in the Black Ops 6 player base, the Zombies mode maintains a dedicated following. However, the challenge and focus on survival often overshadowed the story for many players.
The Season 1 update's addition of Directed Mode has proven highly effective. Data from 480 million hours of gameplay reveals an impressive jump in main quest completion rates – from a mere 4% to 8.23%. This doubling of completions, while a success for Treyarch's design goals, still leaves a significant majority (over 90%) of players yet to experience the full story.
