New Call of Duty: Warzone Update Reportedly Causing Big Problems

Warzone's Latest Update: A Mixed Bag of Fixes and New Issues

The recent Call of Duty: Warzone update aimed to resolve several bugs, primarily addressing frustrating loading screen crashes. However, this patch appears to have introduced new challenges, particularly impacting matchmaking and Ranked Play.

Warzone, a hugely popular battle royale game since its 2020 launch, has seen its share of updates, some lauded and others controversial. The removal of the Verdansk map and the integration of Black Ops 6 mechanics sparked heated debate among players. Despite these controversies, Warzone maintains a substantial player base thanks to regular updates and additions like Resurgence mode and new maps.

While intended to squash existing bugs, this latest update has reportedly caused significant matchmaking difficulties. More critically, Warzone's Ranked Play mode is experiencing severe issues, including players phasing under the map and Buy Station malfunctions. These problems are particularly concerning given the competitive nature of Ranked Play.

Although there's been no official acknowledgment from Activision at this time, it's highly likely they are aware of these issues and working on a swift resolution. Given Warzone's frequent update schedule, players shouldn't face an extended wait for a fix.

Warzone's Steam player count has recently declined, attributed to increased competition, persistent cheating problems, and unpopular decisions such as the premium Squid Game Battle Pass. However, addressing these current technical issues, coupled with potential future additions (like a Verdansk return), could revitalize the game's popularity.

Call of Duty: Warzone Update Patch Notes

  • Resolved a bug causing loading screen freezes and crashes.
  • Corrected an issue affecting bullet trajectory for the AMR Mod 4 weapon.
  • Fixed a Resurgence mode bug where players dying out of bounds lost field upgrade and killstreak functionality.
  • Addressed a visual glitch preventing the display of ammo boxes, self-revives, and throwing knives.
  • Fixed a problem where players lacked a death icon after being eliminated in Red Light Green Light.
