Mastering the Flare Knife in Freedom Wars Remastered

Freedom Wars Remastered presents players with formidable challenges, particularly the massive Abductors. This guide focuses on acquiring and effectively utilizing the Flare Knife, a valuable tool in overcoming these towering foes.

Obtaining the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. Once you achieve Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. This vendor sells a range of items, including the Flare Knife, for 3,000 Entitlement Points. Equip it via the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal, selecting an available Combat Item slot.

Utilizing the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is a single-use combat item specifically designed for severing Abductor limbs. This is crucial for players who prefer Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, providing a way to sever limbs without relying on Light Melee options.

To use it, lock onto a severable Abductor part and use your Thorn to grapple onto it. With the Flare Knife equipped, a severing option will appear, initiating a quick-time event (QTE). Successfully completing the QTE by rapidly pressing the designated button severs the limb. Be aware that the Abductor may attempt to disrupt the process by leaping or crashing.

Cooperative play enhances the Flare Knife's effectiveness. Teaming up allows for repeated snares, significantly increasing the chances of a successful sever. Remember to repurchase the Flare Knife before each subsequent Operation, as it's a single-use item.
