Fortnite Vault Raiding: Community Guide

by Peyton Mar 13,2025

Fortnite players eager to continue the Outlaws Story Quests are facing a unique challenge: a Community Quest to obtain the Outlaw Keycard, a new gameplay element. This guide explains how to contribute to the community effort by robbing Vaults and Cases.

The mid-season update for Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, introduces the Outlaw Keycard challenge tab alongside the Outlaw Midas skin. While details are scarce, completing quests increases the keycard's rarity, unlocking new areas and features in Battle Royale. This new mechanic has left many players puzzled, especially since the next Story Quest is locked until the Community Quest is finished.

The process seems straightforward: players must rob Vaults and Cases in Battle Royale matches to contribute to the community goal. This collaborative effort is reminiscent of the Doctor Doom boss event, requiring players to work together. However, unlike the Doctor Doom event, this Community Quest appears more extensive.

Early attempts reveal that individual efforts may not significantly impact the progress bar. Robbing a Vault immediately after landing yielded no progress, indicating that collective participation is key. Players cannot solo this challenge.

Further suggesting a longer timeframe, the next set of Fortnite Outlaw Quests isn't released until March 25th—a two-week wait. This implies Fortnite developers anticipate the Community Quest may take up to a week to complete. While this may be frustrating for some, the newly available Golden Gunslinger Quests offer alternative gameplay until the Outlaw Quests resume.

This concludes the guide on contributing to the Fortnite Community Quest by robbing Vaults and Cases. For more Fortnite news, check out the rumored collaborations for the Lawless season.

Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
