Freedom Wars Remastered displays each Abductor's health bar on its torso. Players utilize various weapons and items to deplete this health and defeat the Abductor. The game features diverse damage types, each with unique effects. While Light Melee weapons sever body parts, Impact Damage functions similarly, contributing to overall combat strategy. Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage and its effective use in Freedom Wars Remastered.

What is Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered?

Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. A numerical value often accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, but this doesn't directly increase total damage. Instead, it's non-elemental damage boosting standard attack power, thus increasing the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter causes the Abductor to stagger, fall, or exhibit unique reactions, creating opportunities for substantial damage before recovery.

Unlike the visible health bar, the stagger meter is invisible; staggering can occur at any point once the rate surpasses a threshold. This presents both advantages and disadvantages. Offline play allows for charged attacks and powerful hits. However, in online play, staggering might hinder teammate attacks. Some Abductors react differently to staggering; for example, Ramosa retreats. Precise hits become more challenging during this period.

Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility allows weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. The Manufacture Modules feature enables module creation using resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Synthesise Modules combine identical modules to upgrade their effectiveness. Attaching the crafted module to a weapon boosts its Impact Damage, improving staggering capabilities.

Because Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements maximizes staggering efficiency. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly beneficial for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons naturally adept at building stagger.
