Borderlands 4's Rich Content and Latest Trailer
Featuring An Expansive Endgame Vision

Gearbox Software has been steadily unveiling details about Borderlands 4's mechanics and lore. In a July 7 interview with Game Informer, Creative Director Graeme Timmins emphasized their ambitious approach to post-story content, building on lessons from previous entries.
Timmins, who helped shape Borderlands 3's endgame, confirmed his team incorporated community feedback into Borderlands 4's design from the outset. "We've planned the endgame from the beginning," he explained, "combining the best elements from Wonderlands and previous Borderlands titles to deliver our strongest post-game experience yet."
Community Creates Early Build Planner
Eager fans have already developed skill tree planners months before release. Twitter user Byrd partnered with Maxroll.gg on July 7 to create build planners for Vault Hunters Vex and Rafa.
Timmins responded with enthusiasm while cautioning players: "This tool is fantastic! Remember though, all skills remain subject to change during our final balancing passes. The version at launch may differ from current demos."
New Trailer Explores Kairos Setting
The "Welcome to Kairos" trailer, part of the BEYOND THE BORDERLANDS series, offers a 7-minute deep dive into the prison planet's lore. Uploaded July 8, it introduces new factions opposing the Time Keeper's tyrannical rule, including The Outbounders and The Augurs, each with distinct motivations players must navigate.

Narrative Director Sam Winkler described the Time Keeper as "a fundamentally different antagonist - omnipresent yet carefully rationed to maintain impact." Managing Director Lin Joyce emphasized the game serves as both a continuation and accessible starting point: "This represents a pivotal moment in our universe that honors legacy while charting new territory."
With innovations like seamless loading and weapon system enhancements, Borderlands 4 appears poised to elevate the franchise. The game launches September 12, 2025 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms.
