Genshin Impact: Shuyu’s Baffling Beetle Battle Bowl Event Guide

by Lillian Feb 11,2025

Conquer the Shuyu's Baffling Beetle Battle Bowl in Genshin Impact 5.3! This guide provides a straightforward approach to mastering this limited-time beetle battling event. Five battles await; let's tackle them efficiently.

Entry Requirements:

  • Adventure Rank 20 or higher.
  • Completion of the Mondstadt Archon Quest Prologue. While not mandatory, completing Xianyun's Story Quest "Grus Serena Chapter" adds context and introduces Shuyu.

Gameplay Mechanics:

The event pits your Onikabuto beetle against various enemies within a Teapot simulation on Mt. Aocang. Controls are simple: Forward, Backward, and Jump. Mastering stamina management is key, as movement and attacks consume stamina. Strategic use of Piercing Strikes (hold attack button) maximizes damage.

Battle Strategies:

Here's a breakdown of each stage's opponent and effective tactics:

  1. "Staff Master Who Only Uses Basic Horizontal Sweeps": A standard Hilichurl; consistently target its head, dodging its predictable attacks.

  2. "Staff Master Who Waves a Torch About Non-Stop": A Hilichurl Berserker with a Pyro Slime. Focus on its head and exploit the Pyro Slime as a weakness, particularly when it's preparing to throw it.

  3. "Mumbly-Bumbly Red-Hot Mage": A Pyro Abyss Mage. Interrupt its spellcasting, then unleash a flurry of attacks. Dodge its fireballs and flame pillars.

  4. "Bouncy, Energetic Mage Who’s Actually Freezing Cold": A Cryo Abyss Mage. Employ the same strategy as the Pyro Abyss Mage.

  5. "Big Guy Said to be Solid as a Mini Mountain": A Stonehide Lawachurl. Be agile, dodge its attacks, and prioritize the Geo Slime that appears for significant damage with a Piercing Strike.
