Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, the cult classic PlayStation survival horror games, have roared back to life with PC re-releases on GOG. These DRM-free versions, part of GOG's Preservation Program, offer the original games completely intact.
Originally released by Capcom in 1999 and 2000 respectively, Dino Crisis and its sequel remain beloved despite the absence of a new entry since Dino Crisis 3's Xbox debut in 2003. While fan hopes for a new game or HD remake have persisted, Capcom's 2022 release of Exoprimal and creator Shinji Mikami's comments last August seemingly dashed those expectations. Mikami attributed this to the success of Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise.
However, GOG's release is a welcome development for fans. Previously difficult to run on modern PCs, these ports are now readily accessible and enhanced. GOG highlights the preservation of Regina's iconic line, "You're extinct!", now ironically inapplicable to the games themselves.

GOG also announced its Dreamlist, a community voting tool allowing users to suggest games for future releases on the platform. This initiative aims to gauge community interest and facilitate the revival of more classic titles.
