"Gothic 1 Remake Demo Now Available on Steam"

by Amelia Mar 26,2025

In celebration of the "Nyras Prologue" demo release for the Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled an exciting trailer. While the original Gothic game introduced players to the Nameless Hero, the remake allows you to step into the shoes of Nyras, a prisoner striving to survive in a challenging world, just like his predecessor.

The demo, launched during the Steam Next Fest event, has already broken records for concurrent players within the Gothic series:

This demo segment showcases the remake's enhanced graphics, animations, and a combat system developed on Unreal Engine 5. While the prologue offers a glimpse into the game, it cannot fully capture the extensive freedom of action and deep RPG mechanics that players will explore in the complete version.

The Gothic Remake is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms (available on Steam and GOG). Although an official release date has yet to be disclosed, anticipation continues to build among fans eager to dive into this revamped classic.
