Gunblade, Bridge Map Enhance Rivals Update 9

by Gabriel Feb 19,2025

Roblox's Rivals receives Update 9, introducing the Gunblade and Bridge map. This smaller update focuses on these two additions, leaving bug fixes and balance changes for a future update.

Developer Nosniy Games highlighted the Gunblade, a versatile weapon combining rifle and blade functionality, perfect for surprising opponents. The new Bridge map, created by @GreatGuyBoom and set in Seoul, offers intense close-quarters combat in a concrete arena.

Rivals Update 9 introduces the Gunblade to its arsenal.
Update 9 also includes minor skin modifications for the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi, and renames several Hexxed-themed items to Vexed. Importantly, the update paves the way for the highly anticipated Ranked mode, with the developers stating that bug fixes and balance adjustments will be implemented before its release.

The team emphasized their commitment to player feedback and assured players that necessary improvements will be incorporated in time for the Ranked update. This follows a pattern of regular updates since the game's launch last May, including Update 7 which introduced the Energy Rifle, Energy Pistols, and Crossbow.

Rivals Update 9 Patch Notes:

NEW MAP

  • The Bridge map: An arena-style duel zone in Seoul, Korea, created by @GreatGuyBoom.

NEW SPECIAL CHALLENGES!

  • New challenges replacing the Winter Spotlight, offering keys and the limited-time Bungeoppang charm upon completion on the Bridge map.

OTHER

  • Minor modifications to Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi skins.
  • Renamed Hexxed Flare Gun, Hexxed Candle, and Hexxed wrap to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, and Vexed, respectively.

DEVELOPER'S NOTE:

The developers confirmed the intentional omission of bug fixes and balance changes in this update, prioritizing the new map and weapon for this release, with the promise of these improvements alongside the upcoming Ranked mode.
