HandyGames Announces Way of the Hunter: Wild America CBT for Mobile

Way of the Hunter: Wild America is coming to mobile devices, bringing its expansive open-world hunting experience to smartphones and tablets. PC players are already familiar with its acclaimed gameplay. Originally released by Nine Rocks Games in August 2022 for PC and consoles, the mobile port is currently in beta testing, with THQ Nordic and HandyGames planning a full release soon.

Will the Mobile Version Be Complete?

While some graphical adjustments are expected given the limitations of mobile hardware compared to PCs, the core gameplay, including DLC, is slated for inclusion post-launch. HandyGames has announced a closed beta test (CBT) via a tweet, providing a signup form for interested players on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.

A Top-Tier Hunting Simulator?

Way of the Hunter challenges players with strategic gameplay and realistic wildlife behavior. Set in expansive open-world environments inspired by the US and Europe, the game offers a massive 55-square-mile hunting ground.

Players can utilize a range of authentic hunting weapons, from rifles to bows, and employ advanced tracking techniques, analyzing blood spatter and animal signs to secure their trophies.

The game features a dynamic ecosystem that responds to player actions. Over-hunting in one area will cause animals to relocate, adding a layer of realism and strategic depth.

An in-game economy allows players to sell harvested meat to purchase better equipment, hunting licenses, and taxidermy trophies for their lodge. Both campaign and co-op modes will be available, with full controller support on mobile.
