Killer Instinct Gold becomes the newest Nintendo 64 title joining the Nintendo Switch Online game catalog.
This enhanced port of the arcade fighter Killer Instinct 2 joins its predecessor in the growing collection of retro games accessible to Online Expansion Pack subscribers.
Originally launched in 1996, Killer Instinct Gold was developed by renowned British studio Rare, then a key second-party developer for Nintendo. The studio created classics including Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye 007, and Perfect Dark. Players can select from 10 brutal combatants and master countless moves and devastating combos across various game modes.
Though Rare (and the Killer Instinct franchise) now belongs to Microsoft, Killer Instinct Gold marks another Xbox Game Studios property making its way to Switch. Since 2013's Xbox One launch title Killer Instinct, Microsoft hasn't shown interest in continuing the series.
