Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's phenomenal success continues, surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks!
Warhorse Studios, the developer, celebrated this achievement on Twitter, echoing their earlier triumph of reaching 1 million sales within a single day of release.
This remarkable feat for the medieval RPG sequel, launched February 4th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, is a testament to Warhorse Studios' dedication.
Steam alone witnessed over 250,000 peak concurrent players, significantly eclipsing the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 seven years prior. The actual peak player count is undoubtedly higher, considering console sales, though precise figures remain unavailable from Sony and Microsoft.
Embracer Group, Warhorse Studios' parent company, highlighted Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's strong performance, praising both player and critical reception. CEO Lars Wingefors emphasized the game's anticipated continued success, citing its high quality and immersive gameplay. He also mentioned a robust roadmap of updates and new content planned for the next year.
The post-launch roadmap includes three expansions slated for 2025. Free updates are expected this spring, featuring additions like a barber shop for character customization, Hardcore Mode, and horse racing. Summer will bring the first paid DLC, "Brushes with Death," focusing on protagonist Henry's assistance to a mysterious artist. Autumn introduces "Legacy of the Forge," delving into Henry's adoptive father's past. Finally, winter will see the release of "Mysteria Ecclesia," a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
