Monster Hunter Wilds Lightcrystal Farming Locations

Lightcrystals are found by mining Mining Outcrops scattered throughout Monster Hunter Wilds. The drop rate is random, so persistence is key. Here are the areas with Mining Outcrops:

  • Windward Plains: Areas 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 17
  • Oilwell Basin: Areas 4, 6, 7
  • Iceshard Cliffs: Areas 8, 16
  • Ruins of Wyveria: Area 5

After mining, Mining Outcrops take approximately 15-20 minutes to respawn. Utilize this downtime by farming materials in other areas before returning.

How to Use Lightcrystals

Once you've gathered enough Lightcrystals, head back to Gemma at Base Camp. She'll use them to forge or upgrade your equipment. Lightcrystals are required for the following items:

  • Guild Knight Sabers I
  • Dragon Perforator II
  • Dual Hatchets II
  • Triple Bayonet II
  • Iron Assault II
  • Iron Gale II
  • Chain Blitz II
  • Iron Accelerator II
  • Hyperguard II
  • Buster Sword II
  • Iron Hammer II
  • Metal Bagpipe II
  • Chrome Drill II
  • Iron Katana II
  • Iron Beater II
  • Ingot Vambraces
  • Thunder Charm III

Keep in mind that many of these items (excluding the Thunder Charm) may become obsolete relatively quickly. Don't be afraid to upgrade your gear as you progress.
