Marvel denies using AI for its "Fantastic Four: First Steps" posters, despite fan speculation. The controversy stems from a poster featuring a character seemingly with only four fingers.
The marketing campaign for "Fantastic Four: First Steps" launched this week with a trailer teaser and several social media posters. One poster, however, sparked debate due to a character appearing to have a missing finger.
Despite this, a Disney/Marvel representative confirmed to IGN that AI was not involved in the poster creation. Explanations for the four-fingered anomaly range from the finger being obscured by a flagpole (deemed improbable) to simple post-production errors. The repeated faces, some suggest, might be a result of common background actor duplication techniques rather than AI.

The lack of official clarification regarding the four-fingered character leaves room for ongoing speculation. The incident, however, highlights the increasing scrutiny surrounding AI's use in film marketing. Future promotional materials will likely face even closer examination.
