Marvel Snap Deck Guide: September 2024 Edition
Let's jump into this month's Marvel Snap (Free) deck-building guide, aiming to help you stay competitive. Last month saw a relatively balanced meta, but the new season introduces new cards, potentially shaking things up. Remember, today's winning deck might be obsolete tomorrow! This guide offers current strategies, but exploration is key.
These decks represent top-tier options, assuming a complete card collection. Five top-performing decks are presented, alongside a couple of more accessible, fun alternatives.
The Young Avengers cards haven't drastically impacted the meta, although Kate Bishop and Marvel Boy have seen some success. However, the new Amazing Spider-Season and the Activate ability are game-changers; expect significant shifts next month.
Kazar and Gilgamesh
Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird
This deck leverages low-cost cards, buffed by Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, and Gilgamesh thrives in this environment. Kate Bishop offers flexibility and cost reduction for Mockingbird. A strong performer, but its longevity remains to be seen.
Silver Surfer Still Reigns Supreme, Part II
Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool
Silver Surfer remains a dominant force, with adjustments for balance changes and new cards. Nova/Killmonger provide early boosts. Forge enhances Brood's clones. Gwenpool buffs hand cards, Shaw benefits from power increases, Hope provides extra energy, Cassandra Nova drains opponent's power, and Surfer/Absorbing Man secure victory. Copycat replaces Red Guardian, proving a versatile asset.
Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing Strategy
Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum
The Ongoing archetype proves surprisingly strong. Spectrum provides a powerful end-game buff. Luke Cage/Man-Thing create a formidable synergy, with Luke protecting cards from US Agent. This deck is relatively straightforward, and Cosmo's utility is likely to increase.
Discard Dracula
Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse
A classic Apocalypse-based Discard deck, enhanced by the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are key cards, aiming for an endgame Apocalypse/Dracula combo. The Collector can provide unexpected value with sufficient Swarm plays.
Destroy
Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death
A near-traditional Destroy deck, featuring Attuma, boosted by recent buffs. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, generating extra energy with X-23, and finishing with Nimrod or Knull. Arnim Zola's absence reflects the rise of counter-strategies.
Fun & Accessible Decks
Darkhawk's Return
Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature
A deck built around the fun and surprisingly competitive Darkhawk. Korg and Rockslide manipulate opponent's decks, while Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova offer disruption. Discard effects and Stature's cost reduction contribute to the strategy.
Budget Kazar
Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught
A beginner-friendly Kazar deck. While less consistent than the top-tier version, it provides valuable experience with the core combo, featuring Kazar, Blue Marvel, and Onslaught.
This month's meta is dynamic. The Activate ability and new cards will likely reshape the landscape by October. Keep an eye out for balance changes and enjoy the game!
