Marvel Snap shakes things up with the new Sanctum Showdown mode

by Sebastian Mar 18,2025

Conquer the Sanctum in Marvel Snap's new limited-time mode, Sanctum Showdown! Available until March 11th, this mode introduces a thrilling new way to play.

Reach 16 points first to claim victory—a significant departure from the usual six-turn format. The key is the Sanctum location, awarding the most points each turn, making it a crucial battleground. Snapping mechanics are also revamped; starting on turn three, you can snap once per turn to boost the Sanctum's point value, creating constant shifts in momentum.

Each match costs one Scroll, but winning earns you another, encouraging continuous play. You begin with 12 Scrolls, replenishing by two every eight hours. Run out? Purchase more for 40 Gold. Regardless of the outcome, every match increases your Sorcerer Rank and rewards you with Charms, redeemable in the Sanctum Shop for cosmetics or new cards.

Strategize carefully! Certain cards and locations are banned to maintain fairness, including those that manipulate final scores. Cards like Debrii are also removed to prevent overpowered strategies. So, Captain Marvel and Dracula won't be riding to your rescue this time!

Sanctum Showdown offers a unique opportunity to acquire Laufey, Gorgon, and Uncle Ben before their March 13th arrival in the Token Shop. Participate in Portal Pulls for a chance to unlock these cards and potentially up to four additional Series 4 or 5 cards, completely free.

Don't miss out! Sanctum Showdown ends March 11th. Visit the official website for details.
