Insomniac Games Remains Tight-Lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but remained silent on updates for the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While co-head Chad Dezern confirmed the studio is working on "great projects with a really ambitious roadmap," details regarding Wolverine's release remain undisclosed. A 2025 release window remains unconfirmed. Dezern stated that despite the excitement, the team is holding back information for now.
Wolverine's Development: A Look Back
Initially announced during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a cinematic trailer, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed in a 2023 interview that the game shares a universe with Marvel's Spider-Man ("they're all in 1048"). While fans anticipated crossovers, the only confirmed connection so far is a Wolverine-themed suit in Spider-Man 2. A ransomware attack in December 2023 briefly exposed some of Wolverine's development assets.
Insomniac's Current Projects and Future Plans
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is launching on PC on January 30, 2025, as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025. Insomniac confirmed no further DLC is planned for the game, but the PC version will include all post-launch updates. Two editions will be available: Standard and Digital Deluxe.
