Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Release Date Confirmed

by Alexis Feb 26,2025

The release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially revealed during Sony's State of Play 2025 presentation, confirming previous leaks. A new trailer accompanied the announcement, showcasing the game's August 28, 2025 launch.

The PlayStation Store had prematurely leaked both the date and trailer last week. Now officially confirmed, the reveal also hinted at an exciting Ape Escape crossover, with a cryptic "And More" suggesting additional collaborations are planned. This initial crossover seems to reference the monkey minigame from the original Metal Gear Solid 3, involving tranquilizer grenades and Snake's unique "Monkey Shaker" weapon.

PlayWhile boasting a new first-person perspective, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater appears to be a remarkably faithful recreation of its predecessor. IGN's preview described it as a "very shiny HD remaster," praising its visual fidelity but noting its almost overly-strict adherence to the original game's design.
