MultiVersus Adds New Characters Amid Development Threats

MultiVersus's story is a cautionary tale in game development, comparable to the infamous Concord debacle. Yet, the game's final chapter is unfolding, with the reveal of Lola Bunny and Aquaman as the last two characters to join the roster.

This announcement follows considerable fan backlash, some of which has unfortunately devolved into threats against the development team. MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh responded with a heartfelt message, pleading with players to refrain from such behavior.

Huynh offered an apology to fans whose desired characters didn't make it into the game, expressing hope that they'll still find enjoyment in the final Season 5 content. He also explained the complex factors influencing character selection, emphasizing his limited control over these decisions, contrary to some fans' perceptions.

Adding fuel to the fire, some players expressed anger over their inability to spend in-game tokens on new characters – a promised perk for purchasers of the $100 edition. This unfulfilled promise may have contributed to the escalation of threats.
