Netflix Unveils "The Rise of the Golden Idol," Three Centuries Beyond Its Predecessor

The Golden Idol Returns: Netflix Releases "The Rise of the Golden Idol"

The iconic Golden Idol from the 18th-century mystery is back! Netflix has unexpectedly released The Rise of the Golden Idol, a sequel to The Case of the Golden Idol. This time, however, we're transported to the groovy 1970s, three centuries after the original story. Think disco, bell bottoms, and the nascent days of fax machines.

What's the Story?

Three hundred years after the Cloudsley family saga captivated audiences, the legend of the Golden Idol persists, albeit as whispers and myths. This renewed interest attracts a diverse cast of characters: relic hunters, cultists seeking enlightenment, and a group of scientists. Players assume the role of an investigator, tasked with unraveling a series of bizarre events linked to the long-lost artifact.

The game features 20 cases, ranging from disturbing to supernatural. Players must analyze evidence, identify culprits, and uncover their motives. Expect a colorful roster of suspects, including suspicious prisoners, eccentric talk show hosts, and corporate figures harboring dark secrets.

Developed by Color Gray Games and Playstack, and published by Netflix, The Rise of the Golden Idol is available on Android, just like its predecessor. Netflix subscribers can download and play the game for free via the Google Play Store.
