FDG Entertainment and Cornfox & Bros. have officially announced Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon, a brand-new entry in the beloved Oceanhorn series. Set 200 years after the events of Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, this title introduces an all-new gameplay style while maintaining the series' signature charm. The game is scheduled to launch in Q2 2025 across Android, iOS, and PC via Steam.
What’s the Story Behind Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon?
This time around, players won’t be exploring vast oceans or ancient ruins by ship. Instead, they’ll be descending into the mysterious depths of a perilous underground labyrinth. The game shifts to a dungeon crawler format with a strong retro aesthetic, offering a fresh yet familiar experience for fans.
The world of Gaia is now fractured—what was once the mighty Kingdom of Arcadia has been reduced to scattered islands, and the fabled White City exists only in legend. Amidst this decay, four brave adventurers set forth on a daring mission to change fate itself.
Their destination? The Chronos Dungeon—an enigmatic and dangerous complex said to house the Paradigm Hourglass. This legendary artifact holds the power to rewrite history. If our heroes can survive its many trials, they may just restore the world to its former glory.
An official announcement trailer has already been released, giving fans a first glimpse into the game’s atmosphere and adventure. You can watch it here:
What Features Can Players Expect in Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon?
The game embraces a classic dungeon crawler design infused with a nostalgic 16-bit arcade feel. Designed with local couch co-op in mind, up to four players can team up for side-by-side action, making every dungeon run a shared experience.
If you're flying solo, you can control all four characters yourself or switch between them on the fly. Each playthrough feels unique thanks to randomized character stats influenced by zodiac signs. The four playable classes include Knight, Huntress, Grandmaster, and Mage—each bringing their own strengths and abilities to the table.
Visually, Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon leans heavily into pixel art and chiptune-inspired music, delivering a strong sense of retro gaming nostalgia. Classic arcade mechanics and challenging encounters ensure that both casual players and genre veterans will find something to enjoy.
