Path of Exile 2's Endgame: Mastering the Delirium Event
Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) offers four major endgame map events: Rituals, Breaches, Expeditions, and Delirium. Delirium, a returning mechanic from previous PoE leagues, is a challenging and rewarding endgame encounter. This guide details how to initiate Delirium events, navigate the Fog mechanic, access the Simulacrum Pinnacle map, utilize the Delirium Passive Skill Tree, and maximize your rewards.
Understanding the Delirium Fog Mechanic
On the Atlas, Delirium events are indicated by a distinctive white and black icon resembling a mirror. To guarantee a Delirium event, place a Delirium Precursor Tablet in a Lost Tower.
Within a Delirium map, locate the multicolored Delirium Mirror near your starting point. Activating it unleashes a swirling Fog that expands across the map. Enemy difficulty increases with the Fog's expansion; exiting the Fog ends the event.
Enemies within the Fog are stronger but offer unique rewards: Distilled Emotions (used in crafting) and Simulacrum Splinters (for summoning the Pinnacle Boss). Fractured Mirrors, found within the Fog, trigger additional mob waves and loot. Be wary of the randomly spawning bosses, Kosis and Omniphobia – they're full-fledged bosses, not just Rare enemies.
The Simulacrum Pinnacle Event
Each endgame event provides materials for summoning a Pinnacle Boss. In Delirium, high-tier Waystones yield Simulacrum Splinters. Accumulate 300 Splinters to create a Simulacrum for the Realmgate.
The Simulacrum is a 15-wave gauntlet, with increasing difficulty and a higher chance of encountering Delirium bosses in later waves. Completion grants 2 Delirium Passive points.
Navigating the Delirium Passive Skill Tree
The Delirium Passive Skill Tree, accessed via the Atlas Passive Skill Tree, modifies Delirium events. It features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes impacting Simulacrum difficulty. Each Simulacrum completion rewards 2 passive points, necessitating increased Simulacrum difficulty for each new Notable node.
Notable Delirium Passive Nodes:
Notable Delirium Passive | Effect | Requirements |
---|---|---|
Get Out Of My Head! | 20% chance for Waystones to have an Instilled Emotion effect | N/A |
Would You Like To See My Face? | Doubles difficulty scaling and Splinter stack size | Get Out Of My Head! |
You Can't Just Wake Up From This One | Delirium Fog dissipates 30% slower | N/A |
I'm Not Afraid Of You! | Delirium Bosses have 50% increased Life, but drop 50% more Splinters | You Can't Just Wake Up From This One |
They're Coming To Get You... | Unique Bosses spawn 25% more often; Rare monster kills pause Fog dissipation | N/A |
Isn't It Tempting? | 30% chance for an extra reward; Delirium Demons deal 30% increased Damage | N/A |
The Mirrors... The Mirrors! | Delirium Fog spawns Fractured Mirrors twice as often | N/A |
It's Not Real, It's Not Real! | Delirium enemies drop 50% more reward progress; Fog dissipates 50% faster | N/A |
Prioritize "You Can't Just Wake Up From This One," "Get Out Of My Head!", and "They're Coming To Get You" for optimal rewards without significant drawbacks.
Delirium Rewards: Distilled Emotions and More
Delirium Fog-affected enemies drop Distilled Emotions. These are crucial for Anointing amulets with Notable Passive Skills and modifying Waystones.
Simulacrum Splinters, also dropped by enemies, are combined to create the Simulacrum, leading to a unique event with guaranteed Unique equipment.
Mastering the Delirium event requires understanding its mechanics, strategically utilizing the Passive Skill Tree, and efficiently managing your resources. With practice, you'll reap the substantial rewards this challenging endgame encounter offers.
