PC Games Enhanced for Controller Gameplay

PC gaming is largely synonymous with keyboard and mouse controls, especially for genres like first-person shooters and strategy games that benefit from their precision. However, some PC games are surprisingly better with controllers. Reflex-based movement and fast-paced melee combat often lend themselves well to gamepad controls, mirroring how certain genres, particularly those originating on consoles, translate better to this input method.

While many PC releases offer keyboard and mouse support, certain titles truly shine with a controller. Recent releases like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Infinity Nikki, Marvel Rivals, Path of Exile 2, and Delta Force are arguably better with keyboard and mouse. Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered, however, offers a slightly enhanced experience with a gamepad, though the difference isn't drastic.

Several upcoming PC games show promise for superior controller play:

  • Freedom Wars Remastered: A PS Vita port resembling Monster Hunter, suggesting controller compatibility.
  • Tales of Graces f Remastered: The Tales series consistently benefits from gamepad controls, and this remaster is expected to follow suit.
  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Similar to its predecessor, this remake's combat system likely favors controller use on PC.
  • Marvel's Spider-Man 2: A PS5 port to PC, generally implying a controller-centric design, though keyboard and mouse may still function well.

A notable 2024 Soulslike game is also included below.
