Pokemon Vending Machines: A Comprehensive Guide

Pokemon fans are buzzing about the increasingly common Pokemon vending machines popping up across the US. This guide answers your burning questions about these exciting automated retailers.

What are Pokemon Vending Machines?

Pokemon vending machines dispense various Pokemon merchandise, much like a standard vending machine but with a much more exciting selection. While different types have existed, the current US focus is on TCG-centric models initially trialled in Washington in 2017. The success of this trial led to expansion across numerous grocery store chains.

These machines are easily recognizable with their vibrant colors and clear Pokemon branding. They feature user-friendly touchscreens, replacing older button-press systems. Customers browse available TCG products, select their items, and pay via credit card. The checkout process includes charming Pokemon animations, enhancing the overall experience. Digital receipts are emailed to customers, but returns are not accepted.

What do Pokemon Vending Machines Sell?

Primarily, US Pokemon vending machines stock Pokemon TCG products, including Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Packs, and related items. Stock levels vary, but many remain well-stocked even during peak shopping periods. Unlike some Pokemon Center machines in Washington State (which are gradually being phased out), these typically do not sell plushies, apparel, or video games.
