Pokemon GO Bug Out Event: Dates, Featured Pokemon, and All Bonuses

Get ready for the *Pokémon GO* Bug Out event! This spring celebration focuses on bug-type Pokémon, offering exciting opportunities to catch a variety of creepy crawlies, earn bonuses, and snag some new avatar items. Prepare for a flurry of activity with increased spawns, special raids, and research tasks.

Event Details

When is the *Pokémon GO* Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event runs from March 26th at 10 AM to March 30th at 8 PM local time. That's five days packed with bug-catching fun and a great chance to add Shiny Pokémon to your collection, as many featured Pokémon have Shiny forms.

Featured Wild Pokémon

The following bug-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, Nymble, and Cutiefly (with Shiny potential).

New Pokémon

Two new Pokémon debut during the event: Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch (evolves from 50 Sizzlipede Candy).

Featured Raid Pokémon

Raid battles offer encounters with:

One-Star Raids:

Scyther*, Nincada* and Sizzlipede.

Three-Star Raids:

Beedrill*, Scizor*, and Kleavor*. (* denotes Shiny potential)

Event Bonuses

Enjoy these bonuses throughout the event:

  • Double XP for catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
  • Increased Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • Increased Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (Trainers level 31+).
  • Sizzlipede will be attracted to Lure Modules.
  • Increased Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede encounter rates.
  • Bonus Pokémon spawns near lured PokéStops with enough catches from a single Lure Module.

Field, Timed, & Paid Timed Research

Spin PokéStops for event-themed Field Research tasks, rewarding Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and Pokémon encounters. Timed Research offers a Lure Module and Pokémon encounters, while Paid Timed Research includes a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and Pokémon encounters. Remember to claim all rewards before the event ends.

Bug-Themed Avatar Items
